This February turned out to be considerably warmer than usual, especially in the latter half of the month.
Due to the unusually high temperatures, the snow has been melting rapidly, and the stone pavement—normally not visible until around April—has already begun to emerge.
Meanwhile, significant snow remains along the latter part of the approach and on the large staircase in front of the shrine.
As a result, strict anti-slip and cold-weather protection is no longer necessary at this time.
However, it is still only March,
At this time of year, it would not be unusual to still have substantial snowfall.
At present, the Oku-no-miya of Ogamiyama Shrine has an unusually small amount of snow.
We hope this information will be helpful for your visit.
